Mirrors

He looked into the mirror and, at first, saw only the rough beard growing on his face and the disheveled hair on his head. His glance was then caught by the striking clarity in his eyes. For a brief moment, instead of seeing himself in the bathroom, he saw his face in the helmet of a fighter in the Roman Legion entering battle. But the thought quickly faded, and he returned to his Calculus homework.
